Dental implants are manmade prosthetic devices that replace tooth roots. These artificial roots (called implant fixtures) are made of medical grade titanium. We have a lot of experience with dental implants. We have worked as a team with the local Oral Surgeons for close to 30 years placing and restoring implants.
Each case is unique. If the patient is a candidate, one or more teeth can be replaced with dental implants. These devices are stable, strong, durable and aesthetic. This is a multi visit process, that includes significant healing time between visits. It is common for the implant process to take six or more months from start to finish. If needed for aesthetic concerns a temporary restoration can be fabricated to wear during this process.
As with all dental restorations, dental implants are not permanent. They have the potential to last many years. Tobacco cessation, excellent oral hygiene practices (including daily effective tooth brushing and flossing), eating habits (including decreased sweets), and regular dental visits will positively affect the longevity of your dental implants.
